{"id":4724,"date":"2023-05-11T17:28:38","date_gmt":"2023-05-11T15:28:38","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/almenda.org\/?p=4724"},"modified":"2023-12-27T17:57:51","modified_gmt":"2023-12-27T15:57:51","slug":"monitoringovij-zvit-universalnij-soldat-za-sichen-berezen-2023","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/almenda.org\/en\/monitoringovij-zvit-universalnij-soldat-za-sichen-berezen-2023\/","title":{"rendered":"Monitoring report \u201cUniversal Soldier\u201d for January-March 2023"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Russian Federation continues its purposeful policy of <strong>destroying the Ukrainian identity and militarizing children<\/strong>, who remained in the occupied territories of Ukraine.<\/p>\n<p>The actions of the Russian Federation are aimed at the<strong> complete assimilation of the population of the occupied territories and the formation of children\u2019s desire to support the armed forces of the Russian Federation<\/strong>, including voluntary joining the army of the Russian Federation upon reaching required age.<\/p>\n<p>The following tendencies can be identified for the monitoring period of<strong> January-March 2023:<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Regarding the occupied Crimea<\/h2>\n<p>The policy of the Russian Federation regarding the <strong>militarization<\/strong> and <strong>indoctrination<\/strong> of <strong>children<\/strong> of the peninsula continues. New centers of the \u201cMovement of the First\u201d are being opened, in which all children of the peninsula are being actively involved, including the youngest ones \u2013 through the organization \u201cOrlyata RF\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The occupying administrations of Crimea continue to open <strong>commemorative plaques<\/strong> in educational institutions in honor of those who died <strong>during the so-called \u201cSpecial Military Operation\u201d<\/strong>. Also, children and youth from the occupied parts of <strong>Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions<\/strong> are being invited to Crimea for <strong>patriotic education<\/strong>, who are then being accepted in the ranks of the <strong>Young Army. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It should also be noted that this year\u2019s celebration of the ninth year of the occupation of Crimea was not particularly large-scale, mass events and a parade for the 78th anniversary of the \u201cGreat Victory\u201d on May 9 were also canceled.<\/p>\n<h2>Regarding the occupied parts of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions<\/h2>\n<p>It should be noted that during the monitoring period there was an <strong>intensification<\/strong> of the measures aimed at<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>destroying the Ukrainian identity and replacing it with the Russian one;<\/li>\n<li>militarization of children and youth;<\/li>\n<li>active involvement in youth movements, the centers of which are being opened in the occupied territories at a frantic pace. This especially applies to the \u201cMovement of the First\u201d but is also relevant for the \u201cYoung Army\u201d, \u201cYoung Guard of the United Russia\u201d, #YugMolodoy and other more local centers (for example \u201cYoung Traffic Inspectors\u201d in the occupied Berdyansk)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These movements actively promote the ideas and values typical for the Russian identity (for example, cult of victory in the \u201cGreat Patriotic War\u201d, volunteerism and volunteering for the benefit of the Russian federation, loyalty to the Russian army etc.).<\/p>\n<p>The occupying administrations and youth organizations of the temporarily occupied Crimea, which actively train \u201cactivists\u201d from the occupied South, play a significant role in these processes.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h3>The active militarization of children and youth has begun<\/h3>\n<p>Solemn openings of the Young Army centers take place, children get actively involved in supporting Russian soldiers through \u201cA letter to a soldier\u201d campaigns, collecting clothes to send to the frontlines and participating in patriotic events.<\/p>\n<p>There were more frequent reports about the visits of servicemen of the Russian Federation to preschool institutions and schools, including for trainings in handling weapons and demonstration of military equipment.<\/p>\n<h2>Integration of education in the occupied territories into the Russian education system<\/h2>\n<p>In 2023, one can observe the ousting of the Ukrainian language and literature from the public space of the occupied South through reducing the hours of language and literature study in educational institutions, removing Ukrainian books from libraries and schools, and replacing with the books of Russian classics.<\/p>\n<p>On February 17, 2022, Putin signed the law, aimed at integrating the systems of education and scientific activity of DPR, LPR, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions into the legal system of the Russian federation.<\/p>\n<p>The law should bring the activities of educational organizations in the occupied Ukrainian territories into compliance with the legislation of the Russian Federation with the implementation of the socalled \u201ctransitional period\u201d, based on the experience of Crime and the city of Sevastopol \u2013 that is, actually implementing the \u201cCrimean scenario\u201d of the destruction of Ukrainian education.<\/p>\n<p>The so-called \u201chead of Crimea\u201d Aksyonov also stated that based on the Crimean experience the integration of \u201cnew territories\u201d will take at least 5 years.
